Patience, patience, patience...

Maybe if I say it 100 more times, I might actually gather enough to get through today.

Yes, I am having one of those days. A day when nothing seems to make Miss Emma happy. She is so out of sorts, it's making me out of sorts. I sure hope it's teeth because it's too early for those terrible twos to be hitting, isn't it?

Case in point: We MUST read the same book ("boop") a hundred times over and over again. Don't even THINK about another book or Emma's evil twin will roll around the floor as if her life has completely ended.

And what? You want to put food INSIDE her plastic bowl at lunchtime? Oh no, you must let her turn it over so that you put the food ON TOP of her now upside-down bowl. Refuse and the fork will end up in your eye.

Basically, it's her way or the cryway today.

Now I know all about picking your battles and distraction, but oh my word, this is nuts. Yes, she has an ear infection and a cold, but she's been on meds since last Friday and does not have a fever. The boogies have been clear the whole time, so maybe it really is teeth.

Yes, that must be it.

Say it with me now: It's the teeth; it's the teeth; it's the teeth...

Sounds like typical one year old stuff! I'll take a 2yr old over a 1 yr old anyday. I always thought 10 months to about 26 months was the hardest age to deal with.

I know all about the cryway!!! TheBeast has at least 30 tantrums a day! She's almost 15 months. She's crying as I write this because her big sis just told her "no." lol.

Those days are rough and I know what you mean when there is no distraction and no matter what you do it's wrong. People who say they have ways to deal w/these days have to be full of it or clinically insane.

I'm sure the 2's are more tough than I can imagine but that doesn't make the 1's any easier some days!

Ah yes... a 1 year old tantrum. The only good part about a 1 year old tantrum is that you can forgive them faster. A 2 yr or 3 yr tantrum? Not as forgiveable as they should KNOW this stuff by then, right?

It's the teeth, it's the teeth...

Hang in there, mama...it will get easier (then it will get harder again, then easier, then harder, then...) I love ya! :)

today it's the book and the food outside of the bowl, and tomorrow (well in a few years I guess) it's the outfit! By the way, Lainey loves the pics of Emma, she's all about the Fashion Friday pics and always notices Emma's great shoes! She was a bit miffed today when there weren't any pictures...We've looked at ALL of them on your flicker account too! I think today was just one of those days, I'm actually betting there was a full moon somewhere above those clouds...just a guess!;0 lot's of crabbies and crazies here today!!!

Hang in there!

I agree with Jen - 1's are much worse than 2's. Georgia's throwing her own brand of tantrums now, too - Just walk away, Lisa, walk away. Let her have her fit and come back when she's done.

I just remembered something that made a WORLD of difference in the last couple of weeks while Georgia was getting 2 bottom teeth AND two molars at.the.same.time. Nice.

Baby Orajel makes something called Gentle Naturals Homeopathic Teething Liquid. It says its 100% natural and contains chamomile for soothing. I've never used anything for teething before, but I'm not lying when I tell you that when Georgia was fussy because of her teeth, I would give her half a dropper and she would stop. Immediately. I tried some and it didn't numb like normal orajel does, so I don't know what it does, but it worked. I got it at Walgreens in the baby section. (you give it every 2-4 hours so its not like you dose them every time they cry:)

This is the toughest mommy time...one year olds are so much more difficult than two's...Jen & Janna are right...just walk away...and when she goes down for a nap reward yourself! When my kids were that age i coined the phrase, "When do I get to take their batteries out and put them away on a shelf?" Hang in there!

My daughter prematurely hit her Terrible 2s around that same age. And my baby boy will soon be hitting the teeth stage. Heaven help us all!
