Baby is Good!

Today was my second OB appoitment and all is well with Baby B #2. Although I haven't been as worried since I.ALREADY.HAVE.A.BUMP. Seriously, at barely 11 weeks, I am noticeably showing. I've even had a few people comment so I know I'm not crazy. I thought 13 weeks with Emma was soon, but at this rate, I will be rolling down the aisle at my sister's wedding in September. God has a great sense of humor that way! :o)

Anyway, heartbeat is strong at 156. And well, that's about it. I waited for about 2 hours for a 5-minute appointment, but I have to say I do love hearing that heartbeat. Even with the tummy, that sound makes it all so much more real. As I chase Emma around, I tend to forget that there's another little one in our lives. That is, of course, until 3pm hits. THEN I remember as I stare longly at the couch... (and as I justify downing an entire bag of Chex Mix!)

Unfortunately, Jeff hasn't been able to come to any of our appointments yet -- even the ultrasound -- so he's pretty bummed. We tried to make it work tonight, but because of the 2-hour wait, Jeff had to relieve our wonderful babysitter (thanks Aunt Nenni!) who had a previously made appointment. Anyway, I feel bad because I don't think this baby is that real to him yet, and I'm already feeling guilty like this baby is getting slighted. But that's life when you already have a child, right? Anyway, we are going to do our best to make sure Jeff can be at the next appointment, even if Emma has to come with. I'm just not so sure how happy a tot will be after 2 hours in a waiting room. Won't that be a fun post to read!

So that's the scoop. Stay tuned for Fashion Friday!

Glad to hear all is well!

With Baby #4 I have a new doctor and Tim doesn't even know her name. I'm sure they'll shake hands over the C-section table. He even missed the U/S because it was an "emergency". Later babies aren't short changed, just more relaxed!

And BTW, I was showing by 8 weeks with this baby. Those tummy muscles never quite forget how to pooch out. :-)

When are we going to see bump pictures?

I felt the same way with Ryann - like I was constantly trying to even the score between how much attention my family showed her vs. what they showed Nora (nora was the first grandchild on Dave's side and first granddaughter on my side). I would call my parents and say - you got this for Nora at this time, would you please make sure you do that for Ryann, too? I think it was especially difficult because not only was she second, but she did not like anyone but me, so no one - not even daddy, had an opportunity to bond with her until she was over a year old. Now with three, i don't even worry about it and figure that it'll all come out in the wash... poor georgia!

oh and dave never came to any appointments with ryann or georgia except the u/s. its just not as exciting to wait for 2 hours for a 5 minute appointment after the first one:)

I remember & absolutely loved the look of awe on Jeff's face when he talked about the dr. appointments when you were expecting Emma & Baby B #2 definitely deserves the same ;o) So that settles it! I am officially changing my visit day for Gram J back to Tues. Thursday is now 'OB Day' for Lisa AND Jeff. Oh and by the way, not to mention that me & little Emma get an extra snuggle or two ;o)

With my second, I always brought my first to the appointments and usually had at least an hour wait, sometimes, 3! One time, we had to go to the cafeteria to eat because it was taking so long and I was starving and he was starving! Anyway, lots of snacks, books, stickers, and patience! Congratulations on your second pregnancy. I have read your blog for awhile, since right before Miss Emma was born, through mamac-ta. Just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy it!

I can't wait to see the bump! So glad to hear you both are doing well, not that I expect anything different.

I know I'd feel extremely guilty over everything w/the 2nd since I already feel guilty with everything in general. But even though things may be different, he/she'll never be slighted with the love. They are two different people, #2 will have things that Emma didn't, but you'll always be one big, happy family! With that said though, this doc better lessen the waiting time so everyone can be there!

Happy Easter!
