Sneak Peek

Now that I've built up these ultrasound photos so much, I know you're going to be disappointed. I know I was. But posts like yesterday put it all in perspective -- my baby looks healthy!

Here is our attempted profile shot:

I was so spoiled after Emma's first ultrasound photo. Isn't it just too perfect?

Unfortunately, Baby B #2 decided to get all snuggly with Mommy's placenta during the photo and video portion of the visit, which means we got great photos of the back of his/her head, an ear, and an arm.

We did get a quick grin, but I admit this photo is a bit scary without all the baby chubs:

The good news is Baby cooperated fully for the measurements. Everything looks right on track and there wasn't "anything suspicious." I saw a little heartbeat, piggy toes and very busy legs. Daddy claims to have seen something else floating around, but he said that last time too. We both did, and now we have Emma! I guess I'll let him think what he wants... ;o)

My doctor's appointment was the day after my u/s, so we had lots of reassurance that all is well. I gained 2 lbs, which puts me at 8 lbs so far, and I measured at exactly 20 weeks. Heartbeat was strong at around 144. I remember Emma's heart rate being faster, so I don't know if that indicates sex or not, but I have to admit I'm getting curious. My "gut" says boy, but my girl name just feels right. That's exactly what happened with Emma, so I don't trust my instincts at all.

Any guesses?

Oh I love the grinning shot and hearing all is well is all we need.

B/c he's (yes I said he) is grinning and getting cuddly w/the placenta and having a slower heart rate, I'm saying boy! Totally just a random guess though.

I swear, since having Julian I don't trust my gut on that anymore either, I feel like my mind is only in boy land all the time. But all those "clues" remind me of how Julian was and maybe just b/c they are opposite of Emma. Ugh, I don't know! Can't wait to find out though so we can do some real shopping!

Hey there, lurker here:) I really stink at guessing what people will have, so I won't guess:0 But I'm very happy for you that the pregnancy is going so very well for you! Blessings and Congrats!!

I'm so excited for you! I never got to have such cool ultrasounds! It's amazing to see the detail! How cool!
I guessed wrong with each of my three too! I was still blessed with three healthy babies and am so thankful. I'll be praying for Baby B #2 and for you as well. Thanks for sharing this special time with us!

How awesome is it to see our babies on a screen WHILE they are still developing? Amazing...
I'm saying BOY. My boys always had lower heart rates. Annaliese's was usually in the 160's+...the boys were always in the 140-50s. Just my guess. :)

I'm guessing boy, but only because all three of my boys had heartbeats in the 140's.

If what y'all are saying is true. . .maybe I am having a boy! This baby's heartrate has been 140s. The girls were always 160s. Hmmmm. . .

Ok, those 3D photos are too cool!!!

I am not one to guess. I thought Mark was a girl because the way my pregnancy was going, then the ultrasound proved otherwise. I never go with my gut on these things!!!

Well, both my girls heartrates were around 155 and this one I'm having now is 145, so I'm really thinking I'm having a boy. Plus I've barely gained weight, and it sounds like you haven't gained much either. How much did you gain with Emma? I got fat, fat, fat with both girls! So, if I have a girl, I will be very surprised, not disappointed, but very surprised, and she won't have a name! Yikes!

Well Flip Flop, I gained 60 pounds with my boy so I hope what you are saying about that isn't true b/c if I were ever to be pregnant with a girl some day I'd be very scared I'd gain 300 pounds! Lisa just has probably the best will power I've ever met making all the right eating choices.

Love the u/s pictures! I loved going to my u/s and finally seeing the baby. I especially loved seeing the baby move and not feeling it at all in those first u/s.

no guesses - i've never tried with anyone - not even myself.
